Ferbine: what an interesting name!
It makes perfect sense however, since ‘ferbine’ means ‘to connect’ in Frisian.
Even after more than 25 years in Amsterdam, I’ve never really lost touch with my Frisian roots.
I always seek connection. My first step is to understand your situation and your desires. After that, I can get to work. I may even come up with ideas that have never occurred to you, simply because I know that there are so many possibilities.
One of the things I enjoy best is bringing nature into the most unlikely of places. Together, we’ll take a look at what suits you and what makes you happy. For example, we can discuss how much greenery you would like, and whether or not you would like to work in the garden, and how much time you have for that. Between us, we will find the perfect balance for your green space.
Connection
Even once the design is complete, we will stay in touch. Is the garden working as we’d planned? How is it developing? Have you had the opportunity to find out how much fun garden maintenance can be?

About me
While standing among the finest designer furniture at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Europe’s most prestigious furniture fair, I came to an essential realization: ‘true happiness does not come from excess and outward appearances, but from the tranquillity and beauty of something that has always been there for us: nature.’
This bolt out of the blue, arriving as it did in the middle of that fair in Milan, transformed my life.
Right then and there, I decided to change direction and follow my passion, specializing in designing urban gardens with an interior designer’s eye. These days, I combine green interior design consulting with creating beautiful, sustainable urban gardens with just one aim: experiencing happiness close to home.
Urban gardens provide so many benefits. I grew up in the countryside, myself. Nowadays, amid the hustle and bustle of the city, I feel that creating a little oasis of greenery really enriches your daily life. Every nook and cranny of an urban garden matters. I am committed to reusing materials wherever I can, and I incorporate existing plants and beds when designing unique, vibrant and, most importantly, green spaces.
